SYMPTOMS
Gynecological cancers have different symptoms depending on the type involved, but there are some common signs that women should know. However, it is important to note that having these symptoms does not necessarily mean that one has cancer, but they are grounds for consultation with a doctor or other healthcare professional who can determine its presence. Here are the symptoms associated with different types of gynecologic cancers:
1. Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding or Discharge:
- Heavy periods or bleeding between periods.
- Bleeding after menopause.
- Unusual discharge, which may be watery, bloody, or have a foul odor.
2. Pelvic Pain or Pressure:
- Pain in the lower belly or pelvis can be a symptom of ovarian, endometrial, or cervical cancer.
- This pain might be persistent or intermittent.
3.Abdominal Symptoms:
- Bloating, which is often persistent.
- Changes in bowel or bladder habits, such as constipation, diarrhea, or frequent urination, can sometimes be related to ovarian or uterine cancer.
- Feeling full quickly or difficulty eating.
4.Changes in Vulvar Health:
- Itching, burning, or tenderness in the vulvar area.
- Changes in skin color or a visible lesion on the vulva.
5.General Symptoms:
- Fatigue, which is often unexplained.
- Back pain, which can be a symptom when cancer has spread.
